Today being a Friday (weekend in the Middle East), I decided to have a “masti-chaat” kind of a breakfast. Well, it took me about 30 minutes to decide the exact breakfast on Talabat.
What’s Talabat?
Talabat is the largest online food ordering platform in the Middle East. It operates across the GCC and Jordan. Users can order from over 4,300 restaurant partners including brands such as Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut, Papa John’s and Subway, as well as local eateries from different cuisines. It’s just like Zomato!
Finally, from the 100 of Indian cuisine restaurants in Bahrain, I decided to order from Asha’s Chaat Sweets and Namkeen as they had really nice images and the food looked really good!
Masala Dosa : BHD 1.000
Faluda with Nuts : BHD 1.100
Total Bill : BHD 2.100
First of all, I started with “Masala Dosa!
It’s packed with a white chutney, sambhar and a spicy brownish chutney and the dosa stuffed with vegetables, as usual how it’s served. Since it was a home-delivery and parcel, they had to cut the dosa into two, to make it fit into the packaging. There was no spill as it was packed really nicely that I didn’t even need a plate for it. It was not bad but the quantity could have been a bit more for the given price of BHD 1.000.
Next, after a brief wait – I moved onto Faluda with Nuts!
It was not that great taste-wise and plus the quantity was not justified for the price of BHD 1.100. Comparatively, I could have for something more fresh and organic for the same price and much more quantity-wise.
Some of their best selling dishes are Pav Bhaji with Cheese and Motichoor Ladoo, although they have a variety of dishes and meals to choose from, like North Indian Snacks and Sweets which you could try out.
If you’ve eaten from Asha’s Chaat Sweets and Namkeen and would like to share your opinion/review, please feel free to leave it in the comments.
